Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is pleased to share more information about the SYNDUALITY Project, which was first announced at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2022. New visuals have been unveiled, as well as more details about the characters and mechs featured in the video game element of the project.
What Is the SYNDUALITY Project About?
A new, large-scale SF project created by the Bandai Namco Group, based on the theme of communications and miscommunications between humankind and AI.
The dreams of humanity and AI – forever destined to diverge.
The frustration, angst and sorrow from knowing that no matter how much they may consider one another, their feelings will never truly align. This project seeks to portray the pathos of human-machine relationships and through SYNDUALITY, it depicts the story of relationships between human and human, human and AI, and AI and AI. The final tale of misaligned souls that mankind will ever experience in a world slowly approaching its end.

The SYNDUALITY Project consists of a collaborative effort to create both a video game and an anime. However, each story will be told via methods that are most suited to the way they are being showcased. The video game and anime are set in different periods in the same timeline, with the game set before the anime.

Alone, but never really alone. Pilot your armoured vehicle with your partner Magus as you scramble for limited resources in this PvPvE third-person shooter. No experience is the same. In this ever-changing landscape, you must develop a close relationship with your Magus to survive in this unforgiving wasteland. The two of you, alone, on a one-of-a-kind journey.

Magus
A humanoid robot equipped with AI that has been designed to complement human intelligence. Their appearance is so human-like that it is difficult to tell the difference. As the player’s valued partner, ADA joins him on board the Cradle Coffin vehicle for a variety of missions in search of resources and in battle against the enemy. Different units feature different personalities and appearances, with a unique Magus accompanying each player. ADA is the Magus accompanying the Drifter, Alba Kuze.

Information
Depicting a tale of brave survivors of mankind fighting to resist their fate in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the SYNDUALITY anime has been confirmed for broadcast on TV Tokyo and other channels.
The anime has been developed by a dream team in the world of anime, with animations done by renowned studio, Eightbit, character designs by neco, and “coffin” designs by Ippei Gyoubu. The work paints a vision of an ill-fated, yet beautiful future filled with fascinating characters and impressive mech action.
Story
A lethal poisonous rain called “Blue Cyst” had wiped out almost all of humanity in a disaster known as The Tears of the New Moon. Over 100 years have passed since this tragedy occurred, and the human race is finally embarking on a slow journey towards recovery.
In small colonies known as Nests that are scattered across desolated wasteland, humans strive to survive alongside the Magus, humanoid robots equipped with AI designed to complement human intelligence.
The year is 2242 AD. It is time for the Magus, asleep in the ignorance of lost memories, to be awaken once more.
