“We Love Katamari” returns, fully remastered!
“We Love Katamari”, released in 2005 as the second title in the “Katamari” series, returns fully remastered. While maintaining the same classic “Katamari Damacy” gameplay, this new title features upgraded graphics and superior playability.
Whether you played the original on PlayStation®2 or whether this is your first taste of the “Katamari” series, this is the perfect opportunity to roll your way around the world!
We have also released a new promotional video, packed with highlights from the new title.
In addition to all your classic favorite stages, the video also showcases “Royal Reverie”, a new mode for this title. We encourage you all to check it out!
What is "We Love Katamari"?
A simple but surprisingly immersive game
Roll your Katamari, collect the objects that stick to it, and make your Katamari bigger and bigger.
Start inside the house, picking up paper clips and sweets, before moving into town to collect power pylons and buildings. You can collect anything - even human beings and animals. Once your Katamari is complete, it turns into a star in the night sky. Clear the challenges set by the King’s fans, and create as many planets as you can!
As you cannot collect objects that are larger than your Katamari, the key is to think about the order in which you will move before you begin!
The unique “Katamari” series world and story
By sheer accident, the King of All Cosmos destroyed all the stars and celestial bodies in the universe, save for Earth itself. Sending his son, the Prince, down to Earth, he ordered him to create a huge Katamari.
Dutifully, the Prince grew his Katamari larger and larger, absorbing all sorts of objects from the Earth’s surface. Eventually, the many Katamari he created were returned to the heavens, restoring the beauty of the constellations.
Seeing their night sky restored, people all over the world were grateful to the King. Keen not to disappoint his new fans, the King has now sent his son down again, this time he must fulfill the tasks sent to them by the people.
New mode for the series: “Royal Reverie”
This title features a new mode known as “Royal Reverie”.
Inspired by the interstitial movies from “We Love Katamari” and comprising five new challenges from the childhood of the King, this new mode allows users to control the King himself, rather than just the Prince and his cousins.
Be prepared to see a new side to the usually intimidating King. Watching him struggle to do his best under the yoke of the spartan education of his own strict father, you're sure to be holding back a giggle or two.
A range of other improvements make the game easier to play than ever before!
Graphics level select function
The game has evolved dramatically since its original release in 2005, with the addition of a range of new modes and functions. These include a “Gorgeous” graphics level which makes the game look much better than its “Usual Stuff” counterpart, a “Selfie” function that allows you to take photographs of yourself, “Improved Navigation” functionality that helps guide you to your destination, “Eternal” in which you can keep on rolling with no time limit, and the “FAVORITE BGM” function, allowing you to create your own favorite playlists.
Details of these new features and instructions on how to play the game can be found on the official website. We invite you all to take a look.
